Update for Wednesday...

Edi is in rehab now since yesterday. Below is Vivien's short email for today..

"Not much happening at Rehab.  When I arrived at 10'ish (visiting hours are 10 am - 8 pm) he was waiting for the physiotherapist to collect him for some exercises.  When I left at 10.50 am, she still hasn't turned up.

Understood from Hei Meng that Edi's been assessed by the physiotherapist by the time he saw Edi at 1'ish, eg: Edi was checked for stability when standing on one foot.  I do hope by tomorrow, all the assessments will be done and a rehab schedule developed.  Edi is feeling listless already and nothing much has happened.  Perhaps they are short staffed but with the beds in high demand, the sooner they help patients with rehab, the sooner they are out of the place.  It just seems to me that the wheels are turning very slowly here.

Today's Nurse, Helen, is the most patient that Edi's ever seen - she didn't push Edi for a shower; constantly returned to the bathroom to check on the patient Graham whose left leg has been amputated below the knee.  He feels that even the Chinese nurses back home don't come close to such dedication and patience.  We have been blessed with kind and helpful hospital staff, from doctors to cleaners."
